Meet The Staff

We've been family-owned and operated since 1995. The owner, Schiller Martin, started as a server the year we opened for business. After years of serving, bartending, and managerial duties, he was given the opportunity to purchase Tequila Sunrise Mexican Grill. The rest is history.

This is a family business. Schiller's son, older daughter, younger daughter, and his daughter's niece all work at the restaurant. Eventually, Schiller's two nephews also joined the team. There's nothing like the love and commitment in a family-owned business, especially at the Tequila Sunrise Mexican Grill Mexican restaurant In Fort Lauderdale. Jean Stinfil, our head chef, has been with us for 25 years. He's was the first head chef Tequila Sunrise Mexican Grill has ever had. In fact, a lot of our staff have worked here for 15-20 years. So, we must be doing something right. It doesn't get more authentic than this!

Our staff is important to us, but so is our community. We work with the Kiwanis Club of Oakland Park, Florida, different pet rescues, the American Cancer Society, and the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. Our community gives so much to our business and family, so we do everything we can to give back.

Every Cinco De Mayo, we host a giant block party to celebrate the community we've created. A DJ, a mariachi band, and a live band for dancing the night away accompanied by shots and margaritas until we run out of alcohol! This is one block party that you won't want to miss.
